FAQ - Windows for Campervans and Motorhomes
Yes! Vanlife Store is a specialist in accessories for Campervan and Motorhomes.
All our windows (VanShade, VanSlide, VanLight, and VanSquare) are compatible with all types of vans (Ducato, Master, Sprinter, Crafter, Transporter, Expert, etc.)
All our windows come with an interior mounting system with an aluminum counter-frame, making installations stronger and more durable compared to windows mounted with clips.
Not necessarily. A flat window can perfectly be installed on a campervan.
By installing a window with an aluminum counter-frame (like the windows offered by Vanlife Store), the curvature is compensated by the mechanical force created by the assembly of the window and the aluminum counter-frame.
The result is a more durable installation than with a window fixed with interior clips.
Push windows are highly recommended for campervans.
Sliding windows are only recommended in locations where a Push window could be damaged (on the area covered when opening a sliding door, for example) or unusable (on a rear door where a ladder would be installed).
Push windows notably allow a larger opening (whereas a sliding window only opens halfway) and also allow opening in rainy weather without water entering.
VanLife windows are produced by the same manufacturers who supply major brands such as Dometic and Carbest.
They are of equal or superior quality for prices on average 20% to 40% lower.
All VanLife windows come with a stronger mounting system (aluminum inner frame) and are also offered with blackout blinds and mosquito nets (often sold separately).

When replacing a window, you have two options:
- Install a window with identical dimensions: this option is possible for standard windows (such as VanLife windows) where it is easy to find the same size
- For most Motorhomes, original parts can be difficult to find. In this case, it is strongly recommended to install a new window with dimensions at least the height and width of the existing opening
- For example, if your existing opening is 900x480, you can easily install a 900x500 window (with our provided installation tutorial), but not a 900x450 window
How to choose my window model
The VanShade, VanSlide, VanLight, and VanSquare windows are all identical in quality, CE / 43-R approved, with acrylic glazing, reinforced aluminium frames, and offered in a complete pack with blackout blind and mosquito net.
They are all compatible with all vehicles (vans and Motorhomes) as they come with an aluminium fixing sub-frame.
The difference mainly lies in the shape of the outer frame, as well as the tint of the glazing.
The VanSquare is a projecting window, with an outer frame with rectangular edges, and dark tinted glazing (flat)
The VanShade is identical to the VanSquare with the sole exception that the outer frame has rounded edges
The VanLight is identical to the VanShade except that the outer glazing is light grey tinted
Finally, the VanSlide is a sliding Window, with tinted glazing and rounded edges
No! Windows with straight edges and windows with rounded edges are all easy to install. In all cases, a frame made of wooden battens will be necessary (when installing on a converted van) and for windows with rounded edges, the frame can be made of 4 separate wooden battens.
The installation is therefore easy for windows with rounded edges (VanShade, VanLight, VanSlide) and those with straight edges.
The indicated window dimensions are those of the cutout in the vehicle wall.
For example, for a 900x500 window, simply confirm if you can cut a 900mm x 500mm rectangle in your camper van without touching the structural reinforcements.

Delivery and Warranty
For items in stock, shipments are usually made the same day or the next day, with delivery in 24h-48h in France and 48h-72h in other countries.
You have 30 days to change your mind and return your items to us. Our priority is customer satisfaction and it is perfectly normal to be able to change your mind!
